The Future of the Oceans
During two days we will take you from the current state of the oceans to an Ocean of possibilities. Andre Kuipers, astronaut and ambassadeur of the earth, will frame this summit with his extraterrestrial view on our bleu planet. A world that consists of more than 80% of water and is full of opportunities, when used sustainable!
Meet the skippers of the Volvo Ocean Race
The skippers of the Volvo Ocean race will each lead a group of delegates to share their Ocean experiences, bring new insights and generate innovative solutions on Ocean Health. Like Dee Cafari, skipper of Turn the Tide on plastic, is dedicated to the issue of ocean health. She will take you along her Volvo Ocean Race experiences and inspire to take personal action now! Charly Enright skipper of Vestas 11th Hour Racing, is a key ambassador for the changes necessary to improve the state of our oceans: through action!

Volvo Ocean Race and the Dutch Topsector Water & Maritime invite you on 28 & 29 June to be part of The Ocean Summit The Hague, work with inspired people and organisations that have started on workable solutions for Plastic Soup, Ocean Health and Zero Emission Shipping. Join our speakers as they stir delegates to re-think solutions to the problem of Climate Change, empowering them to explore alternative strategies, and realise Ocean Inspired Innovations and make use of Oceans Resources in a sustainable way.

The breakout session of the Ocean Summit in The Hague will build dynamic bridges between visionairs, entrepeneurs, governement and private companies. Having highly diversified groups of deligates will create energy at the stage and offer the audience different insights. All sessions will start with an inspirational view on future options and close with a ‘what can we start working on tomorrow’ commitment.
